US Treasurer Brandon Beach effectively announced a preliminary design of the coin on Friday via social media, stating: “No fake news here. These concepts marking America’s 250th birthday and [Trump] are real.”

The post – which amplified another commentator reacting to the draft design – stated that Beach looked “eager to provide updates” after the conclusion of the temporary shutdown that began after midnight Wednesday when Democratic senators insisting on changes on healthcare and other funding matters declined to offer the votes necessary to pass a GOP-supported funding bill.
