The Chelsea star emulated his sibling Nathaniel in playing for England, emerging as the twenty-first duo of brothers to be selected for the England side.

The Chelsea defender is expected to join up with the England squad to cover for injured Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is scheduled to join the team for England's final World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, although it has not yet been confirmed.

The Three Lions have already booked their place for next summer's competition.

Chalobah was given his initial selection under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then earned his first cap against the Senegalese team.

In September, Tuchel stated Chalobah was unlucky to be omitted from the squad for qualifying games against Serbia and Andorra, and additionally did not select him for the next October fixtures.

Tuchel has been an significant influence in Chalobah's development, having handed him his Chelsea debut in the year 2021.

Chalobah has appeared in all but four fixtures for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the side in third place in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup last eight and in the group stage of the European competition.

Guehi picked up a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar last week.

There are likely to be other additions to the selection. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has announced that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) are set to pull out from the England setup.
