The Simpsons Arrives in Psyonix's Hit Game: Unfortunately Not the Car You're Dreaming Of
It was previously announced that The Simpsons was collaborating with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole destination where fans can experience the universe of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to Rocket League, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be usable in Fortnite. However, if gamers will truly desire to equip it is a different matter, as there's only one Springfield car everyone is itching to get behind the wheel of, and this new offering isn't that one.
What Fans Really Want
Although most players would undoubtedly love to compete while driving Homer's custom creation—the notoriously impractical automobile the patriarch designed personally in the classic installment "the one where he meets Herb"—that's not what's being offered. Not even getting the massive SUV, the heavy-duty vehicle showcased in the tenth season. Instead, fans will obtain the family's everyday well-worn four-door, which has been in the family since 1989. Even though this specific vehicle has seen better days, it stands as an recognizable element of the series. For those who analyze the game's vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car uses the identical collision model as the Dominus.

More Than Just a Car
But that's not the only cosmetic from the show arriving in the game. This limited-time event will also include a set of challenges to earn additional goodies, all of which are inspired by the show. As detailed in a press release, the missions will task participants to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons seasons, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ house, and travel a specific distance worthy of picking up the ideal pastries!"
Although the full lineup of earnable items hasn't been disclosed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
Based on promotional images is a reliable guide, it seems players will also receive wheels featuring a television showing The Simpsons' opening credits, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and boost effects themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty Burger.
