The Greatest Local Multiplayer Game You've Probably Never Played Arrives to Switch
Wizard of Legend 2, a roguelike quest centered on sorcerers striving to achieve status as mythical figures, makes its debut to Nintendo Switch in the coming weeks. Gamers can get available Nov. 25, giving fans of shared-screen titles a second chance to discover among this year's most impressive releases in its class.
A Rocky Start
Wizard of Legend II took the trajectory of numerous under-the-radar releases. The developer released it in beta testing in late 2024 on PC platforms, prior to publishing it fully, together with PS5 and Xbox versions, in June 2025. When it debuted, it got absolutely slammed. Just 29 percent of its user reviews were complimentary. Its feedback on Steam are "varied", according to close to a couple thousand reviews, with numerous players pointing out the general lack of polish and litany of bugs initially. Gamers on PlayStation and Xbox further lambasted that the cooperative mode, a key feature for the title, was largely non-functional.
Ongoing Improvements
Yet similar to several early access games that release in imperfect forms, Wizard of Legend 2 has improved. In recent months, the development team have deployed a series of patches aimed to resolve these problems. Since experiencing Wizard of Legend 2 more frequently than any latest game recently, it's safe to state it's a bit more functional relative to initially (on console, anyway). It has reached the point where nine times out of ten, one can successfully start a cooperative run to function. Quite an improvement!
If It Functions, It Works
And once Wizard of Legend II functions, it performs excellently. With a top-down angle, you navigate elemental-themed levels by launching incantations in Hades-like gameplay. A great deal of dashing, plenty of dodging, a great deal of handling spell delays. It's incredibly rapid and highly imaginative; through blending your spells alongside a partner's, you can devise powerful synergies.
Nintendo Switch Release Information
Although the Nintendo Switch edition has not been thoroughly evaluated, one should consider the very demanding approval process for games on the Switch. The developer confirmed via an announcement that the Nintendo release of Wizard of Legend 2 incorporates all updates that have been released this year.
