BF6 Players Agree: Tasks Are Excessively Difficult

The launch of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 was met with widespread acclaim, particularly for its premier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, simultaneous player numbers reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, despite its popularity, many players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's hardest challenges, which are required to obtain particular firearms.

Players have started turning to custom matches made via the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, highlighting just how arduous these challenges have become.

Comprehending Battlefield 6 Tasks

Missions serve as Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, in contrast to the periodically changed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four types of assignments, but where most simply offer cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the only way of acquiring 12 of the 41 main guns present in the game.

A number of these locked weapons may soon earn a place on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.

Player Outcry via Reddit

Over on Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how difficult and grindy a number of these challenges are. An individual player emphasized one of the most extreme examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs

"This mission is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.

At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is highly imprecise and only works at point-blank proximity, which is seldom the location you aim to be. The same user also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and the other way around.

Another Ridiculously Tough Task

One more community participant pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the sniper rifle category to access the PSR:

  • Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with sniper rifles

This is tough enough on its own, but there's another important point to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at that kind of range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but given there are merely nine levels in the game at present, it means you're limited to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and possibly Operation Firestorm at a push if you want to snipe from over 200m away.

The Alternative Method

Nevertheless, a method exists: the portal. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't exactly feel like the intended gameplay experience.

Yet, if doing the challenges in a normal session appears to work against fun, since you have to play in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, is it surprising for completing them in a personal session so allies are not impaired?

Future Adjustments

It won't come as a surprise if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the near future, because if they're not, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.

Currently, the player base continues to share their thoughts on these demanding multiplayer missions, hoping for a less arduous player experience in coming revisions.
